LIGHTNING SIGN GOALTENDER TOKARSKI TO ENTRY-LEVEL DEAL
Calm down. It’s no big deal. It’s just like calling dibs on a player. While I absolutely want nothing but the best for this netminder, I do not want him taken away from the Chiefs yet. If the Tampa organization were in better shape, I’d be more supportive of him being worked in. However, I don’t want my babycakes to be rushed in as well, Steve Stamkos is/was. But who knows, Dustin very well could step in and do wonderful like Luke Schenn. And technically, Drayson Bowman signed a contract with the Carolina Hurricanes. So I just need to chill the fuck out.
We are all going to be ok, people! Really…
But the most important part is, Congrats Dustin. You absolutely deserve it. Even though this whole post was about my “wants.”
Toka News Roundup;
-”Like many youngsters growing up in Canada, Dustin Tokarski ate, drank and slept in front of the television during the holiday season.
No, he wasn’t tuning in to It’s a Wonderful Life or even The Grinch Stole Christmas. Tokarski and his father were glued to the World Junior Championships, watching players from Canada’s junior ranks don the red and white in the top teenage hockey tournament in the world. ” from TampaBayLightning.com

Odds are they are just getting him under contract for the sake of getting him under contract. They won’t take him out of juniors until the end of the season, most likely, and even then it’s a stretch they’ll do that. This deep into the season, they won’t yank him out of Spokane right now.

Tampa?? The only player I hate enough to wish he would sign with Lightning is Sundin… He playing as a goalie behind the solid defense of Tampa… I would pay to see that.
Anyways, congrats and good luck
Btw, did anyone mention to Koules that Tokarski is a goalie, not a forward?

I just read about this and got all dizzy and woozy…
I hope it’s just low blood sugar.

@Scotty; Yeah the contract was probably just press/column inches for the Tampa circus. Like “Hey look who we got.”
@Tanya; Seriously, one of my friends said maybe he got signed to be traded. Who knows. But the current state of Tampa? Egads.
@Brittney; It’s sure is a jolt…

That’s weird… I was just talking about the fact that Bowman is the only one who actually signed a contract last night with my grandma. Maybe I’m psychic or something in a strange way…

Thank freakin’ goodness!! After I saw the article, I rushed over to my Ex-Canadian-Hockey player co-worker and made him explain this contract gibberish. He calmed me down. It’s just too soon! You and Brittney aren’t quite ready to move to Tampa Bay yet.
Congrats to Tokarski. You deserve it….just stay another year and a half. We need you. NEED you.

After getting to watch the verbal struggles of Claude Lemieux, my only question was whether or not he would be able to pronounce the AHL Affiliate, but I see he got luck with Norfolk, so good for him.

I’m so sorry. Seriously. My condolences for your man being signed by the off-Broadway show, “Douchebags on Ice” Tough break for his burgeoning career, but I think he stands a decent chance of coming out the other side alive, at least.
