Wrap Around Curl

the solo bowman.

Was it me, or was Seattle a bit ferocious tonight? The Bromance Line kept getting shuffled around much to my dislike. Apparently the only one showing up to score goals in post season action is Drayson Bowman. Darlings? You cannot rest on Bows and Dustin Tokarski to carry the games. Oh, Tyler Johnson, please stop trying to scrap. The Chiefs cannot afford any more injuries or suspension. Mitch Wahl is totally off his game, he just seems scattered. The Chiefs were ehhhh, but the Thunderbirds came to play and Baby Pick was great. He tried to tuck his first star award into his blocker, like no one would notice. I SAW THAT, PICK. Tokarski was clearly frustrated with the end result, but at least it wasn’t a blow out? Chiefs lost 2-1.

The only thing that softened the blow of the game were the relentless That’s What She Said jokes. Good times.

We’ll need at least a game 5, which will be played in Spokane.

That’s what she said jokes are just the greatest. ‘Birds were there to play tonight fer sure. I wonder what adding Ry to the lineup next week will do for our morale? Maybe even Trevor some day soon?! Maybe we’ll get Mikey back too. It’ll be like xmas… I’ll have to get more rum to celebrate.

I was so upset by the game but the thing that pissed me off the most were the sec118 idiots. Never in my life have I ever felt like pitching my phone at someones head… they should be warned, I’ve been trained to have impeccable aim.

J said “Give the puck to Bowman. He can finish every time.”

      “That’s what she said!”

At least I wasn’t in the section with the Seattle fans and their horns.

      • CanadianWasTaken // March 22, 2009 at 9:20 pm

Y says “Wahl just CAN NOT get it in tonight. Needs to get some serious stick on that damn thing.”
        *extended pause*
        “THAT’S what she said.”

I’m pretty sure every hockey game is one long “That’s what she said.”-apalooza

Horns are better than cowbells in my world.

Seattle was definitely on their game last night baby Pick wants to show what he is made of and he did just that! I agree Mitch needs to get his groove back anyway he can…
The Bromance line was all sorts of messed up && that made me very sad…But I have high hope for the return of RyRy && Trev this week so maybe just maybe our post season A** kicking can begin!

  • shindig! // March 22, 2009 at 3:34 pm

Gosh if we could just have letts and glass back we’d be GOLDEN! Well at least in my head we would be. I agree we can’t keep relying on Bo all the time to come through and score.

  • "Dave Schultz" // March 22, 2009 at 7:11 pm

Shari said “your dirty chief needs to stop doing that” (scoring) and I said “no, he just needs to go do it in Carolina”. Baby Pick is so adorable.

  • Monica // March 22, 2009 at 8:23 pm

Baby Picky is soooo adorable! He needs his face on a cute little button. But could he not be so dang good for like one second please??? We need more goals. Greasy goals.
I love watching episodes of The Drayson Bowman Show, but it gets kinda old that he’s the only one finding some open space with the puck. The guys need a good pep talk. Like “DON’T SHOOT THE PUCK RIGHT AT THE GOALIE’S CHEST EVERYTIME” greatokthxbye as WAC would say……
I expect a better show in Seattle.

  • Pete76 // March 22, 2009 at 8:33 pm

FWIW – I thought Kichton played pretty good … he had about as many scoring chances as Wahl … red light special … red light special … we’ve got a bunch of guys who can’t score standing in isles 1-26 and 28-29 … get em while their cold!

  • shindig! // March 22, 2009 at 9:18 pm

so can we only hear these games on the radio that they play in seattle? Because i really want to watch them!

  • wrap around curl // March 23, 2009 at 2:52 am

The QMJHL broadcasts games online for free for fans. ALL GAMES! And a bunch are on tv too. They love their fans.

  • shindig! // March 23, 2009 at 3:41 am

even though ty was scrappin hard core, i loved the effort! That kid wanted that game SO bad.

  • Chris // March 23, 2009 at 7:01 am

Oh, was there a game? I was just trying to throw shit at the heckling guy in 118 the whole night. All I remember was watching the puck drop and then going home…

    • CanadianWasTaken // March 23, 2009 at 3:49 pm

OMG… “PPPIIICCCCKKKAARRRDD. How’s your sister?” I’ve never more tempted to commit public violence in my life! Those 3 (4?) actually caused people in our section leave the game. If I wasn’t concerned from getting banned from hockey, I’d give them a piece of my knee to their faces. Rude doesn’t even cover it.

      • Hockey&Horses // March 24, 2009 at 2:57 am

AH i heard this as well. i was sitting 3rd row in section 118. We sat in the most popular section it seems! I heard those clowns the whole game, while i was already slightly irritated with the kid behind me smacking me with cheer stixs. Also sitting in section 118/119 in the curve between boxes were the scratch chiefs! I saw ryan letts walking towards me when i was going up the stairs & i did a double take and spotted my favorite, Jared Cowen! and trevor glass. so i just HAD to get my friends to go with me over to chat with jared & tell him he’s awesome and get some autographs, sorry I couldn’t resist they were like 5 feet away from me, they were great sports about it. I saw that baldwin was over there later as well.. Eventful night, wish they could have tied the game up, or just won ;)

        • Monica // March 24, 2009 at 3:56 am

Don’t the boys clean up nice?? I love a good suit. But I need to take Baldwin shopping. He was wearing the same outfit he was wearing Friday…..Call me Cory.

          • Hockey&Horses // March 24, 2009 at 6:02 pm

They definitely do! Well good luck with the shopping trip, it might be a bit difficult to find stuff to fit him! Being 6′5 and all.. =P

There’s nothing wrong with listening to the game on the radio…In fact…I think that it’s pretty amazing that the Chiefs have found such a great play by play anouncer…Mike Boyle really gets into the games…There’s been times where he’s lost his voice from yelling “DRAYYYSSOONNNNN BOOOOWWWMANNNNN!!!” Sometimes it’s fun to just listen to him describe his opinion about the refs….you do have to admit that we’ve had our fair share of crappy calls…

  • wrap around curl // March 24, 2009 at 12:22 am

Also, I really am curious to know if the Chiefs are allowed to, you know DICK WITH THE PLAYOFFS SCHEDULE. If you feel the need to contact the WHL; http://whl.ca/Staff-p126653 there is the info.

    • NoStache16 // March 24, 2009 at 12:29 am

You wouldn’t think they could move a PLAYOFF game that easy!! Gosh people have lives and make arrangements to go to a FRIDAY night game just to have it switch so easily all because some vice president probably wants to watch both games himself!

      • nana289 // March 24, 2009 at 2:05 am

I’m just afraid the other organizations will start throwing around accusations that the Chiefs are using it as an excuse to push the games back for some kind of benefit….like letting all our injured players have more time to recover… :S

    • shindig! // March 24, 2009 at 2:49 am

These people are really pissing me off! They act like they are doing “EVERYONE” a favor by moving the game, like everyone who is going to that chief game wasn’t going to go because of the Zag game. Ill be writing a few more “nice” emails to Mr. Vice Mc Asshole.

      • hockey fan // March 24, 2009 at 3:17 am

This is amazing! I have been reading this blog all year and have never felt the need to comment. I love your outlook on hockey and the Chiefs but this has gotten ridiculous. The Chiefs organization is trying to do the city of Spokane a favor by moving their game so it doesn’t conflict with this towns little darling, Gonzaga, and with the biggest event going on in sports right now, the NCAA tournament. You complain on this board about how the Chiefs organization isn’t doing enough to get fans out to the games but when they decide to change the day of their game so that more fans can be there you flip out. There really isn’t any pleasing you people. They don’t change the time of the game and they miss out on thousands of fans at the game, they do change it and they get people complaining about how they are trying to get more people to the game. If you don’t believe me that they would be missing out on thousands of people at the game just remember how many people were out on the concourse watching the end of the Zags game last Saturday. It absolutely amazes me how people that claim to be such huge Chiefs fans can understand so little about the organization and Spokane.

        • Monica // March 24, 2009 at 4:03 am

Sorry ya’ll I have to agree. It sucks and I already had plans for Saturday, but there will probably be a ton more peeps at the game Saturday then there would be Friday. As long as they ban Cheerstix, I’m happy.

  • Pete76 // March 24, 2009 at 3:19 am

I sure some of you can’t adjust your plans to go Sat/Sun instead of Fri/Sat … but unless you know Mark Miles personally I think you need to lay off. First, it is very unlikely that one guy made the decision, and both teams probably enjoy the rest.

As a GU alumn with 12 season tickets to the chiefs… I won’t mind watching the zags play on Friday and watching hockey on Sat/Sun? Keep in mind, I’d watch game 3 of a hockey series before I’d watch GU play in a National Title … but now I get to spend three nights in a row watching sports instead of two. If you have a problem with it, by all means, write and express your displeasure … but making it personal is not a great way to articulate you argument in my opinion.

  • shindig! // March 24, 2009 at 3:24 am

I just want to give him a piece of my mind. I know he won’t change anything. Feels good to take it out on someone no matter how sad that sounds.
