I forgot to post this. I was busy getting some Cheesecake. Anyways, this showed up in my inbox yesterday and I am copying and pasting it from the Chiefs newsletter. For once I don’t have any haterade. Talking to others about this, this is really a good move for the Chiefs and it should have happened sooner but we’ll be glad the organization is taking tiny steps to one, promote the team and two, get the product to fans not in the arena.
The Spokane Chiefs and SWX, Sports and Weather Right Now are proud to announce a five-year agreement bringing the Spokane Chiefs to local and regional television for all its fans to enjoy. The new partnership kicks off with the 2009-10 season.
“I am very excited about our partnership with SWX. We’re proud to be part of Spokane’s first live, local sports Channel and this will be great for Spokane Chiefs Hockey fans,” Chiefs President Bobby Brett said.
“We’ve always had a great relationship with KHQ. Now we’ve entered into a long-term partnership with SWX that will allow us to bring Chiefs Hockey games to sports fans throughout the Inland Northwest,” Brett Sports & Entertainment’s Chief Marketing Officer Dave Pier said.
“SWX is excited to add the Chiefs to our lineup of local sports. The Chiefs have a great history, enthusiastic fans, and will be an exciting addition to our lineup,” added SWX General Manager, Bill Storms.
The broadcast schedule will be announced in August after the Chiefs regular season schedule is finalized.

I’m excited to finally be able to watch the games at home! And I especially love KHQ now, my mom won a mini wooden chiefs hockey stick signed by Tyler Johnson when she called in (at 6 in the morning..) the chiefs trivia answer and she got it right, haha. They had this whole feature on him early this morning, he was there with Boomer and signed the mini hockey stick. Best.Win.Ever.

Ummm what? Schedule? In August? I hope, like, the 1st.
But this is very good news for fans and the franchise as a whole. I hope there will be away games too.

Hey there! I’ve added you to our recommended reading list over at the Chairman’s. Also, as an FYI, one of our writers over there, Eric, is a diehard Spokane fan. Personally, I bleed Blue and White myself…even have a Leafs tattoo. I think you’ll fit right in with the crew over on our side of the fence.
Awesome site you have here, look forward to making it a must-read!
