Before the puck dropped last night the girls and I predicted it was going to be a bad night to be a goalie. But like most of my predictions, I was terribly wrong. The started quick enough with Kyle beach getting a jump on mixing it up. He would then take more penalties that night. A few of which I am pretty sure were “Kyle Beach, two minutes for being named ‘Beach.’ Beach, two minutes.” James Reid stood tall and held off the Giants who are sans Evander Kane. Jared Cowen was a bit more useful than usual. But that still isn’t saying much. Blake Gal continues to be a bulldozer with a wrecking ball attached, doing his part to fill the void the the departure of Dustin Donaghy. Still Hardy Sauter does the line change jumble. I’m waiting for the day when Leigh Mendelson Jon Klemm [edit: LOL, I'm dumb, of course I meant Klemm] just snaps and punches Hardy in the back of the head. Is that too much to hope for?
Also, I think I am pregnant from Levko Koper’s goal. My god was that sexy. Like…wow.

GUYS, THE MAPLE LEAFS BEAT THE WINGS LAST NIGHT 5-1. OH MY GOD, IT WAS LIKE THE SKIES PARTED AND THE BABY JESUS WAS LIKE “HEY WAC, I KNOW YOU’VE BEEN DOWN ‘CAUSE OF HOCKEY BUT I GIVE TO YOU THE LEAFS THRASHING THE WINGS.” AND IT WAS GOOD.
Also, I nicknamed Tanner Mort. Full House. Why? Because anytime I hear the name Tanner I think of Danny Tanner and Full House. Yeah I am really effing weird. But it makes sense to me.

you know what…….I’m tired of you cutting down players. Have you ever played the game? have you ever done anything besides “pretend” to be somebody? try being positive and see how that goes……these players need your support, not your negative mindless thoughts.

Then stop reading. My general policy is “keep it cute or put it on mute.” I leave the dirty talk for certain message boards. For the most part I’m pretty nice to my own players and others for that matter. But I am free to criticize my own team when they are not performing at a level I know they can play at. If they are phoning it in and playing lazy? You better believe I am not the only one calling them out on it. Considering the team won the Memorail Cup two season ago, and crumpled ever since is disappointing.
And do not ever question my love and support for my team. Ever.

Why is the word ‘pretend’ in inverted commas in your post?
Mostly, I like how you’ve singled out one sentence in this post. One sentence that seems a fair enough assessment and that I’m pretty sure WAC didn’t enjoy writing. The rest of the post, I think, is pretty positive.
Anyway. I’m off to scrape together the cash to by a Monster jersey. For he appears to be made from genuine Swedish awesome.

I love your blog.
I am a Wings fan. I could have told you the Leafs were going to win though and congratulations to you. All signs pointed to that on Saturday, most importantly, I picked up the Monster and started him. I think the Leafs are a better team than people give them credit for – just off to a bad start. Enjoy your win, it doesn’t offend me. Hockey harmony.

SaskFan…REALLY? Our players have our full support, even when they play like hell. And we know when they do that, despite not playing in the game ourselves. Ninety-five percent of WAC’s blog is positive, and the negative content is good-humored. I support her sentiment about not questioning the love for the Chiefs around here but I’d like to add:
