Dion Phaneuf is now a Toronto Maple Leaf.

I was mostly zonked out. And my phone started going off with the news the Leafs were making moves, moves, moves. I saw the name Phaneuf and figured I was hallucinating. I roll out of bed and grab the laptop to check over on Pension Plan Puppets and there it was. Oh.
I supremely dislike Dion.
Then the rumblings that Vesa Toskala was being moved. I didn’t think anyone would want him but apparently Anaheim did.
I give much credit to Brian Burke. He inherited one massive mess and he’s still making good on his word to change the team. This shit doesn’t happen overnight but I think the Leafs are on the path. It might not be enlightenment but I am happy for the time being.
I haven’t even looked at the other moves that went down since twitter was going too fast.
Sleep well, Leafs Nation. Papa Burke is taking care of you all.

I dunno. I’m with you on the whole Phaneuf thing. I mean it’s not like they need to spend more money on underachieving defencemen. See Komisarek, Mike.

I’m still a bit nervous over the Calgary trade. Maybe the other pieces are to be trade bait?

I trust everything will turn out for the best.
What else is there to do?

My beloved Finn, Nik Hagman, is a stinky Flame now. And I’m not a fan of Phaneuf. Oh well, I’ll try my hardest to stay a pseudo-Leafs fan…
