Goalies do it best

Y’all are fantastic. You send me things on twitter and to my email be it things related to cupcakes, Star Wars or hockey and I love you for it. @SLStarsFan was sweet enough to tweet this my way. It’s an article on our favorite goalie boy ™ who once again spent some of his summer teaching hockey to little adorable children. I assume they are adorable, there is no photo evidence to support my claim.

From the article:

“This year, especially, after being a rookie in the AHL, I’ll be ready to rock and roll there,” he said. “I’ll just focus on playing goal. I already know the ropes of where to live and what to do there, so that’ll be good.”

From the relative comforts of junior hockey, he stepped into a man’s world in Norfolk, Va., though he still has a boyish look.

“Definitely, it’s a huge change, way out there in the East Coast, living on your own, getting to know the area,” said Tokarski, sporting a Lightning cap. “But it’s a nice area, so I should be fine.

“I’ve lived away from home since I was 15, but I was with billets (in midget and junior), so it was a bit different (as a first-year pro). Since I was 15, I’ve had to grow up a lot. (The pro lifestyle) is definitely a change, but not as big as some would think.

“Just paying bills, doing laundry, washing dishes, stuff like that, where I wasn’t doing it before.”

I really hope Tokarski is called up again this season. And hopefully for more minutes for Tampa. I’m impatient, I just want to watch him rule the net. And smile and say “I told you so.”

  1. Boyish look? Try really, really, ridiculously good-looking. Anywhoooo…..I am also excited to see him strut his stuff in the big show. And I’ll be screaming “WRAPS TOLD YA SO!!” as well…

    • I totally read really really ridiculously good looking in the Zoolander voice.
