oh hey my babies…

You ready for potential content? According to today’s newspaper Curtis Kelner is going to get schooled. Kelner would have been potentially been on the chopping block as one of the overagers who needed to go. Instead he will be attending college, school name not disclosed. Kelner was a great addition last season. I loved his left winger style, he is effective and skates gorgeously. Plus he was lovely on my eyes. He always knew when it was appropriate to drop gloves. Kels, it was nice knowing you.

Where does this leave us? The Chiefs will have 18 of 24 players returning. I think I covered our dearly departed, but allow me to name them again in case your forgot; Chris Bruton, David Rutherford and Judd Blackwater. Our wildcards are Justin Falk and Justin McCrae. Falk potentially going by way of the Wild and possibly McCrae joining the Hurricanes. There is a chance for Drayson Bowman to depart as well, but I really think he wants more season to just slaughter in the W before playing with the big Hurricane boys. Kevin Armstrong was traded to the Prince George Cougars and Jace Coyle went to the Medicine Hat Tigers.

Tomorrow the Chiefs will be practicing which I will probably be dropping in on. I will be taking notes. Eying the fellas. It’s what I do. Also, the Red and White scrimmage will take place Sunday at one pm at the Arena. It is free, it is hockey. Sign. Me. Up.

You know, I thought about posting this a few days ago, since Ryan brought it to my attention. I thought, is it right to post someone’s tribute video they made for their boyfriend, who happens to be David Rutherford? It’s a personal video with snapshots of them being all kissy face. If that wasn’t to your liking, there is always this tribute video that features Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing” (Whoa, dream big!) which was a popular song among the Washington Caps tribute videos.

Personally, I think it’s time to come up with a new song for tribute videos. There are numerous tribute vids on YouTube using that Journey song. The Office, JAM moments being the most obvious. Ok, so I didn’t bother to look up any other videos I just know the song is relatively flogged death. I am not hating on the quality of the song (maybe) but I think it is time to perhaps change it up.

shut ‘em down

Alright, so the Chiefs shut down the Giants. Down and out, even. 4-0. Game Six will be on Monday in Spokane and Seven on Tuesday if needed. Right now the series stands at 3-2 Spokane. This just might be doable. Clearly, David Rutherford has been the star of this post season action.

The lines were shuffled up last night and for the better. Roman had two assists in the first period. Helping out Justin Falk and Rutherford. Rutherford and Falk helped Drayson Bowman in the third. Tyler Johnson closed the game with an empty netter.

Tokarski saves! Stopping 22 of the Giants shots.

Keep it up, boys. I might allow those wretched play off beards.

2 ‘Tips, 1 Chief.

Mmmmm yeah! The sweet taste of losing. Goes great with swallowing glass shards mixed with Drain-o. Chiefs lose 2-1 to Everett. A lone goal by Judd Blackwater in the third. Kyle Beach still lives another day. Grumble grumble. Tri Cities tonight, I feel another loss coming on!

Call me crazy but I think some of the mates were phoning in last nights game. Chris Bruton was inconsistent. David Rutherford sure busted balls, sadly to no avail.  Defense seemed off. Tokarski did a solid job but he can’t carry the team on his own.

Bring your cowbells, kids. It will be a long night.

2-1, Spokane

Tyler Johnson ended up being the magnet. The game wasn’t too very eventful. Actually, scratch that. Drayson Bowman fought his younger brother 10 seconds into the third period. Most excellent. Army was in the pipes and held of Kelowna with just one slipping by. David Rutherford had a gorgeous goal in the third. I am pretty sure when he popped it in he said “I am a mothafuckin p-i-m-p.” Drayson Bowman had a goal as well. We shut down Kelowna which was needed. Oh some visual aides lacking lol treatment.

I might caption these. A brief overview, I am made the freaking post was in the way of the Rutherford shot. The Donaghy one is a fight being broken up. And I seem to have caught him in a tender moment. Then Bowman is chilling in the box, probably talking smack to his lil’ bro across the way. And I know is Cow-when. But I like to say Cohen, like The OC. Wow I am dating myself here.
