Jared of London (the Ontario, London. Not the UK) runs the fantabulous Leafscentric blog, Die Hard Blue and White. He’s also a longstanding regular over on Pension Plan Puppets where he is known for threatening the masses with his pythons and love of brute force. Jared did his part and grew a ’stache for MOvember, so of course he deserves a hat tip for for that. He’s one of my fabulous Toronto area ish boys and at the draft in Montreal nearly got into a drunken fistfight with some Habs fans. But I was like “let’s not….” In retrospect, perhaps I should have let him pummel those Canadiens fans. But I was being selfish and thinking of myself.
So gents, show me your ’stache. Ladies love the ’stache.
I do realize it has been far too long since I have done a Mustache Monday post. However, I return. It may be the start of November. But really, it’s MOvember, as in mustache. Men, it’s time for you to grow a mustache this month for prostate and testicular cancer awareness. Also, think of all the babes you will get with your sweet ’stache. You know, I may be a bright young whippersnapper with a whole lot of moxie. But I do happen to have appreciation for the classics. I was raised on Nick At Nite reruns and I think I’ve seen every epi of I Dream of Jeannie at least twice. There is a reason why some things are held in pop culture reverance. This is one of those things. It’s John Oates mustache. Happy Mustache Monday. And if you even try to deny liking Hall and Oates, I will punch out your blood. And then after I do that, I’m calling that concerned citizen terrorist tip line. Because obviously, if you don’t think I Can’t Go For That isn’t the mothereffing jam? You aren’t to be trusted.
It’s time to salute great facial hair. Apparently my brain is scrambled today because I forgot what day it was, twice. Then suddenly remembered, duh it’s Mustache Monday. I was seriously drawing a blank on this one, and FrankD saved the day.

Cameron Frye and I continue paying tribute to men of distinguished facial hair. This week’s fella is a Canadian and wildly hilarious. Our love for him goes wayyyy back before you even knew his name. But we were aware of his brilliance on Freaks and Geeks and Undeclared. He doesn’t always sport a mustache but the one time he did, it was magical.
Today we continue our magnificent Mustache Monday series where Cameron Frye and I celebrate men of distinguished facial hair. Our gent is Shawn Thornton. Onward to the pic spam!
It’s that time, ladies. One of the two days in the week you look forward to; Mustache Monday and Cheesecake Thursday. Cameron and I know this is the stuff you live for.
Who is our stud today? Well it’s none other than FrankD of Pensburgh. I know, I know. What is it with me and my affiliation and affection for Penguins blogs? I honestly have no idea. Anyways, Frank is a tall glass of water, who lives in Jersey, but loves and adores his Penguins. In Montreal we went to a Mexican restaurant and he ordered a quesidilla that looked like an awkward taco going through the change and I drank mediocre strawberry margaritas with my terrible nachos. It was funnier in person than me relaying it here. Btw, he struggles with pronouncing Spokane correctly. Or just says it wrong to bug me.
Oh, FrankD tried to make a trade and steal me away from Pension Plan Puppets. Or was it PPP was trying to get rid of me….? Mallowmar Bars were involved but they ultimately decided to send it to arbitration. Results still pending.

Now, I am told that there is indeed a picture of just him rocking the stache. But he refused to submit it, claiming it was not up to the rigious standards we have for Mustache Monday. Ok, first of all I am glad he thinks so highly of this esteemed publication but I gotta say it: pics or it didn’t happen. Let us judge the alleged awfulness of your mustache. We’re kind and gentle. I promise.

Better late than never, but this week we have a bit of a battle royale cage match of sorts. This could get controversial. The classics go head to head and you decide the winner. These two mustaches are icon and are their own part of Americana and pop culture. In some ways its old school vs new school. Both gents are rather handsome. But I leave the decision to you, the voting public. And even you dudes can get involved and decide who is more manly.

Last week Cameron Frye and I introduced a new project, Mustache Monday with quite possibly one of the finest facial hair arrangements in all of hockey. We decided we couldn’t just restrict this to players of the NHL. Who will be today’s mustachioed stud? Cameron Frye is awesome. She seriously is. We are like the same person it’s kinda insane. I decided we were the same person when we had a 15 minute discussion about the cult and campy soap on BBC America called Footballers Wive$ and the amazingness that is Tanya Turner.
A few weeks ago we decided there should be a Mustache Monday, celebrating the fabulous facial hair that exists in this world. But who would kick off such a grand and noble project? George Mothereffing Parros. I don’t know of any other mustaches better than his. Maybe we will just quit after this. Because you can’t best perfection. She pulled a ton of pics for this awesomeness.

I love Parros because one, he is a Duck. How can you hate on the Ducks? You can’t, they are a charming group. Also, George grows his hair out for Locks of Love. At Ducks games you can buy Parros staches and proceeds go to charity.
According to his wiki page, his father is an executive at Toys R Us. That means he could get me unlimited Super Soakers and Slip n Slides! He attended Princeton and has a degree in economics. This quite literally, makes him a gentleman and a scholar.
